The Origin
In April 2014, Khushroo Poacha sat by his mother's bedside at CIIMS hospital, as she battled cancer. She noticed he seemed particularly gloomy on that day. "Why are you so sad?" she asked. He told her what he had seen outside: families from distant villages, sleeping on pavements, cooking meager meals on the roadside, struggling for food when the hospital canteen closed on Sundays. How to Receive a Meal?
Getting a meal is just as simple. Anyone in need of a meal can scan the QR code given or give a missed call to +91-9665500000 or send a WhatsApp message with "Seva" to +91-9665500000, or call our IVR system at +91-8446108446 to receive a food token. This token can be redeemed for a warm, nutritious meal at the designated hospital canteen — no questions asked, no paperwork required. Every mobile phone is given only one food token in a day to avoid misuse. This model ensures complete transparency.
Our 100% Direct Giving Model
Seva Kitchen does not have a bank account, and there are no administrative costs, no salaries to be paid, no payment gateway charges — 100% of your donation goes directly to feeding the needy.
Donors pledge meals in multiples of 25 through the Seva Kitchen website. Our team then contacts each donor and shares the hospital canteen vendor's account details. The donor pays the canteen directly and shares the transaction screenshot with us.
