The Origin
In April 2014, Khushroo Poacha sat by his mother's bedside at CIIMS hospital, as she battled cancer. She noticed he seemed particularly gloomy on that day. "Why are you so sad?" she asked. He told her what he had seen outside: families from distant villages, sleeping on pavements, cooking meager meals on the roadside, struggling for food when the hospital canteen closed on Sundays. How Seva Kitchen Works
Seva Kitchen does not have a bank account, and there are no administrative costs, no salaries to be paid, no payment gateway charges — 100% of your donation goes directly to feeding the needy.
Donors pledge meals in multiples of 25 through the Seva Kitchen website. Our team then contacts each donor and shares the hospital canteen vendor's account details. The donor pays the canteen directly and shares the transaction screenshot with us.
